Club Health Conference 2023

NTES is partnering with Club Health Liverpool 2023 to deliver their 12th International Conference on nightlife,

substance use and related health issues.

History

The very first Club Health conference was held in the world-famous Cream nightclub, Liverpool, in 1997. Following the success of the event, The 1st International Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues was held in Amsterdam in 1999.

 

Club Health conferences have since been held bi-annually in Australia, North America and throughout Europe. The 12th International Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues returns to Liverpool in November 2023.

Objectives

The objectives of Club Health Liverpool 2023 include:

  • To develop an understanding of the impacts of nightlife activity and the necessity for creating and maintaining safe and healthy nightlife environments

  • To facilitate the implementation of effective, evidence-based policies, interventions and approaches in nightlife environments that can reduce potential harms

  • To improve knowledge and expertise about how nightlife environments and settings can be developed, managed and sustained effectively

  • To promote multi-agency partnerships and networks at local, national and international levels

Conference
Format

Club Health Liverpool 2023 consists of plenary sessions featuring invited speakers, and parallel sessions comprising submitted abstracts and poster presentations.

 

The conference opening session starts on Wednesday 1st November at 2.00 pm. This will be followed by a plenary session, parallel sessions and a welcome reception. The programme continues with plenary, parallel and poster sessions on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd November. The conference closes on Friday 3rd November at 5.00 pm.

 

Onsite registration will open on Wednesday, 1st November 2023, at 12.00 noon.

The official conference language is English. There will be no translation services available.

Abstract Submission

The abstract submission period will open on Friday, 24 February 2023 and close Friday, 30 June 2023. People who submit an abstract will be notified about whether their abstract has been accepted by Friday, 4 August 2023.
