The project
Norwich Business Improvement District and Norfolk Constabulary have commissioned us to write a Night Safety Charter for the Norfolk Night Time Economy with the intention of then rolling this out across Norfolk.
To develop a Night Safety Charter we will carry out an independent in-depth review of safety across Norfolk’s various evening night time economies. This work includes:
-
A survey and focus groups with the local community and those who work at night including licensed premises, hospitality venues, leisure operators, transport providers, accommodation providers and cultural venues to discover what they would expect of a night safety charter.
-
Stakeholder telephone interviews and workshops will also be conducted to gather local support for a night safety charter.
-
A presentation of research findings to key stakeholders across Norfolk
Following this review, we will deliver a Night Safety Charter for the whole of Norfolk. A Women's Night Safety Charter detailing actions needed specifically for women's safety and a Business Night Safety Charter aimed specifically at evening night time economy businesses and venues.
The project manager from Night Time Economy Solutions is Charlie Mackellar.
