Kingston, Richmond, Wandsworth, and Merton Safer Streets Fund

We are delighted to be starting a new partnership with Kinston, Merton, Wandsworth, and Richmond borough councils to deliver a number of different projects with the aim of improving safety across the borough’s evening and night time economies.

Male Activation Strategy

The first of these projects is an Activation Strategy surrounding male accountability and the role this plays in tackling violence against women and girls. This work includes:

  • Developing and circulating a consumer e-survey.

  • Research with consumers and relevant partners.

  • An in-depth review of current safety campaigns in the area.

  • A report detailing the findings with a series of recommendations.

Training

The second element of this partnership will see us deliver Vulnerability and Anti Sexual Harassment training to individuals and businesses across Kingston, Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth both online and in person.

Evening and Night Time Economy Audit and Review

The final instalment of this partnership is the development of an Evening Night Time Economy Report and Strategy. We will perform extensive research surrounding the evening night time economies of Kingston, Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth.

This research includes:

  • Consumer and employee surveys and focus groups

  • Stakeholder interviews and workshops

  • Two overnight audits to review the four areas at night from a policy, operational, user and place management perspective. 

 

We will present the research findings of this review in a report alongside expert recommendations on how the evening night time economy of each of the four areas should develop moving forward. This will help inform future ENTE strategy for Kingston and Merton city centres.
